Yuki Matsuo is a Brooklyn-based artist and writer with a passion for food. Born and raised in Japan, she studied fashion design and worked as a prop stylist in Tokyo before moving to New York City in 2001. In 2005 she founded the company Yuki & Daughters as a means to further cultivate her interest in the intersection of food & design. Through the creation of food-themed pop soft sculptures, Matsuo both documents and pays tribute to the many diverse vernacular cuisines and traditional foods of New York City. In 2012, Matsuo founded the independent publishing company All-You-Can-Eat Press, which produced an ongoing series of New York City food guides.
